The 2010 Queensland Poetry Festival invites proposals from poets and other performers and artists interested in being part of the 14th annual festival.

Dates

27 – 29 August, 2010

Venue

The Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.

Expressions of Interest

QPF would like to hear from both individuals and groups for performances at the festival and for other projects in association with the festival. Generally transport and accommodation costs are covered for interstate/regional/international

application to relevant funding bodies, such as Arts Queensland and the Regional Arts
Development Fund to supplement travel and accommodation expenses.

A completed Expression of Interest Form and accompanying proposal
A CV, no longer than two (2) A4 pages, outlining recent performances/publications
A sample copy of your work e.g. published collection/work, CD/DVD as well as any blog/youtube/myspace addresses.

Entries are open for the QPF Filmmakers Challenge, 2009

CALLING ALL FILMMAKERS!!!

The Queensland Poetry Festival challenges Australian filmmakers, video artists and other multimedia practitioners to produce a short work (5 minutes max) which explores the possibilities of poetic expression via audio visual technology.

Poetry is defined broadly as memorable language. Your work might be a record of a poetry performance, a video text manipulation or something entirely different. We are looking for work that displays creativity, originality and an understanding of possibilities of language.

A prize of $500 is up for grabs and the winner will be announced at the 2009 Queensland Poetry Festival (21-23 August, 2009). A selection of entries will be screened at the Poetry on the Big Screen session at QPF 2009. The deadline for entries is Friday 17 July 2009.
